School is out for summer! It seems like we have been done for a long time but it has only been a week! There were so many first and last moments in the past few weeks that I decided to group them into one post. Everyone had something to celebrate or a milestone or just a fun first to document.
Last day of Kindergarten! We now have a first grader...can you believe it?
He also had his graduation from Montessori. His teacher shed a few tears and almost made me cry but I held it together. He loved going to Montessori in the afternoon and I'm sure will like to visit since Claire will still be going there next year. He chose to wear a tie for his big day!
Blake also decided that to celebrate the last day of school we should go to Wendy's. How Ohio of you Blake! This is probably the third time he has ever had fast food so it was a big treat. We even went crazy and got the chocolate milk...haha.
The night before the last day of school I asked Blake to write a note to his teacher. He did this all by himself with no help! He really loved his teacher and every minute of Kindergarten!
Last weekend Claire had her first dance recital!
We somehow got ready by 7:55am and I even managed to get her hair put up with the help of many bobby pins and hairspray! She looked super cute!
We had to go to a dress rehearsal before the big performance. It didn't go so well but I wasn't really surprised. She marched out on stage and yelled "I quit!" and then sat down during the whole dance number. After the practice we talked and I told her if she could at least stand up during the performance that would be good so I could see her face. I knew she didn't want to do the dance so I didn't push it. It was a huge step for her to just get out on the stage and we were so proud of her! When the actual performance happened she went out and stood on stage with a big pout and her hands crossed in front of her. I wish I had a picture but the lighting was too low. She definitely got the crowd's attention! As a reward for being brave she wanted to go in the exersaucer when we got home.
She was so happy that she got to do this.
We don't know if she will continue to dance but she sure did look cute all dressed up!
It may be a first and last recital for us!
Baby Madeline had her big day when she got to eat rice cereal for the first time!
There were no tricks or "here comes the airplane". This girl wanted food and she was ready!
Claire was too excited to feed the baby. It is like having your own real doll.
Another funny first. First time I used a laundry basket as a baby holder.
I had to give Claire a bath and the baby wasn't happy in her crib so we set up a basket of fun for her so she could watch and play.
First time falling asleep after a meal in the highchair. I literally walked away for a second to put the bowl and spoon in the sink and came back to this.
First 3D movie with Grandma O'Donnell.
This was a few weeks ago and they loved it. 3D movie at Cosi called Tiny Giants. They were both reaching out and trying to grab things from the screen, it was so funny to watch them be amazed.
First visit to Franklin Park Conservatory with Grandma Murray!
We saw the big bugs made from wood and sticks.
First time at the pool!
I took all 3 kids by myself so this is the only picture I took. It was a handful but we survived!
She loved the water and being dipped up and down in the pool.
Looking forward to a fun summer with all 3 kiddos!
