On Monday, November 24, 2014 Madeline Ann O'Donnell was born at 1:58am.
She weighed 7lbs. 6.9oz. and measured 21.5"
(although 2 days later they measured her about an inch less so the number is in that range)
We are slowly adjusting to our new routine and so far things are going great.
Madeline is now 1 week old. Here are a few pics from the hospital and our first few days home.
I will post her birth story later in the week sometime.
A few minutes after being born. The most amazing feeling of shock, happiness, and awe.
Tired daddy having his first moments with Madeline.
Later in the morning. Both of us hadn't slept in over 24 hours at this point. I think the adrenaline rush helps with that though. It is such an amazing experience that you sit there starring at this tiny baby thinking did this just happen?
Later that day the kids came with both grandmas to meet their new sister! They were really excited!
There were a lot of pics taken but this is the only shot I have of us. I think the grandmas have all the rest of the photos on their cameras, including the pics of grandmas with the baby.
The next day Blake and Daddy came and picked us up at the hospital. I only spent one night at the hospital because both Grandmas had to head back to Chicago and we had to get baby settled at home before they both left. Good thing Madeline was only 2 days late!
I think Blake wanted to stay and hold the baby more.
All bundled up to head home!
Big Brother Blake
Proud Big Sister Claire
The kids love to hold her and ask all the time if they can hold her again.
We have some great helpers!
We have one more reason to be thankful this year!
So excited to have Madeline home and start the holiday season as a family of 5!
