As summer winds down we are getting ready to start the crazy school year schedule. It wasn't that bad last year since Blake was the only one in school but this year it will be a little more hectic. Claire will be in preschool and Blake in Kindergarten so I think I will be spending a lot of time in the car shuffling kids back and forth and trying to get everyone to the right place on time. I am not the best at getting places on time myself so this is going to be an adventure for sure. I asked each of the kids to choose one thing they are interested in and we signed up for the fall. There are a million activities to choose from but unfortunately we can't do them all! Blake chose Karate, actually there is some fancier name for it and I think they refer to it as "Martial Arts Training". I don't have any experience with this so Claire and I will be watching and learning two days a week. Maybe we will all learn some new Japanese terms? Blake is obsessed with the Ninja Turtles so he is super excited to learn all the kicks and punches.
Claire chose dance class which is another thing I know very little about. At least for now her class is a little more fun and not too serious so we will just enjoy seeing her jump and spin and gallop around the room. She took a summer class to test it out and she had the biggest smile on her face during class. I love watching her be independent and try new things. This is her first class where mom doesn't have to participate so I can watch her without having to jump around myself which is nice.
Getting ready to leave for class. She actually let me tie up her hair so she can see!
Big brother participated in the first class so Claire wouldn't be afraid.
I thought he might want to be the next Billy Elliot but he said he didn't want to dance.
No problem, just trying to not assume anything!
I try not to make them think that only girls can do certain activities and only boys can do certain things.
Blake learning a new kick.
Claire seemed kind of interested in Karate so who knows, we may have two ninjas at some point?

Wow, the kids are growing up so fast! It's great to see them doing all their activities! You're all going to be busy!
