We packed up and went to Chicago for the week of Thanksgiving...
But first Claire had to decide if she wanted to bring and extra headband for Otis?
I was busy packing and came back into the kids room and this is what I saw.
Otis will do anything for his best friend!
Had to fill up the car...buying groceries for a family of four pays off with fuel perks! I had to do a double take when I saw the price. It was like traveling back to the 90's.
We visited a lot of family of course and I didn't really get any great pics. Here are the cousins hanging out and watching a xmas movie.
The kids enjoyed seeing the trains and Christmas lights at the Morton Arboretum.
Aunt Carolyn and Claire waiting for Thomas to come around again.
Thanksgiving morning we all "ran" the turkey trot in Elmhurst. There was more walking than running in our family. We were doing pretty well until we saw someone running dressed as the State Puff Marshmallow Man and a Ghostbuster chasing him. For the last 6 blocks or so Claire and Blake were fighting because B thought it was the Marshmallow Man and C thought it was Frosty the Snowman.
Hard to break up a yelling match when you are strapped into a double stroller in the middle of a race!
Getting ready for the race...we were much warmer once we started trotting!
Blake decided he needed to shave last night with his pretend kit.
He asked me to feel his face afterwards so I could see what a good job he did.
Hard to believe that someday he will have to do this for real!
Whew! Time to rest up before the Christmas shopping begins!
