Easter Fun

I think we can sum up our Easter with one phrase "how did this come from?".  If I had a dollar for every time I heard Blake say that I would be a rich mama.  Let's just say Blake was a bit confused about the whole Easter Bunny thing and I really don't blame him.  When I started to think about it the idea doesn't make a whole lot of sense.  It makes even less sense when you try to explain to a two year old why a bunny would leave eggs for him and make him try and find them.  Ben was working all weekend so I took some video of our little egg hunt so he wouldn't miss out on Blake's funny reaction to the whole thing.  Blake is very skeptical of new foods, even candy.  The only sweet thing he eats are donuts of course so I was wondering what he would think of Eggs with M&M's inside.  We had to do things in a strange order because it was just me and the kids.  The Easter bunny brought Blake his gift the day before Easter (so dad could see him open it), the egg hunt took place upstairs instead of outside (to avoid Otis sniffing out all the candy filled eggs) and we actually colored eggs after the hunt because we had to pack in all the messy stuff before baby Claire woke up from her morning nap.  Anyway, next year we will probably have to actually do things in order or else Blake will get really confused about all this Easter stuff!  The picture above is from the Egg Hunt at the zoo.

Blake got a sandbox from the Easter Bunny.
I didn't realize it would be so much fun for them to play with indoors, they both were loving it!

Claire could even climb in and out by herself.  At one point I turned around and Blake said "mommy, I'm feeding the baby!"  This is his idea of feeding the baby, Claire went along with it for about a minute before yelling for help.

We finally put sand in the sandbox today and Blake loves it.
I think we will be spending a lot of time digging in the sand this summer!
