I am happy to report that we finally have our power, home phone, and internet! Irene did some major damage to the trees in our area so we were without power for 67 long hours! We lost power Sunday morning at 7:30am during the opening song to Curious George (Blake was not happy!). A few big trees on our street fell onto the power lines and were there for a few days so we didn't have much hope, they told us we may not get power till the weekend.
We waited and waited and finally Wednesday morning at 2am our window air conditioners, a bunch of random lights, and the alarm system from the previous owner of our house all came on at once. I have never been happier to be woken up at 2am! Our phone and internet just came on last night so now we are back to normal around here. It was a little annoying not to have power but I know there are a lot of people dealing with bigger issues like the flooding in Vermont and people not having water to flush their toilet so I feel very lucky! I think Blake thought we were just being mean when we kept telling him the tv didn't work. I think he had fun taking candlelight baths and reading books by flashlight before bedtime.
While the power was out ...Claire turned 4 months old! She is getting stronger every day, I think she will be crawling away from us very soon. Yesterday she had her four month check up. She is now 17lbs. 5oz. and 24 3/4" tall. She is the same height that Blake was at 4 months.
Yay! Welcome back to the age of electricity! I'm glad that you guys survived the storm and all that time without power. Good thing you got that flash light! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a long wait for electricity! We are so happy the trees didn't fall on your house. Claire looks like she weathered the storm just fine. What a cutie and a cute outfit, too!
