Soccer!

The kids both wanted to play soccer this spring so we found a program that is affiliated with the pro team in Columbus, The Columbus Crew.  It was the only program I could find for 4 year olds and Claire really wanted to play so we signed up!  Even though Claire isn't 4 yet they said she was close enough.  The best part is that the age group is 4 and 5 so Blake and Claire play side by side on the field which makes it much easier for us to watch them!  Blake has been telling everyone he plays for the Crew.  Before it started he thought his games were going to be in the stadium.  I had to explain that he needs to play for a long time before he reaches that level!  

The first week was a little rough for Claire.  She didn't want to play because her friend who is also playing on the team didn't show up on time.  Instead of playing soccer she played with the baby.

Thankfully week 2 was a lot better!  She had a fun time with her friend Lily.

There was still drama when she didn't want to take her ball with her out on the field but we just let it go.  She insisted that she didn't need a ball to play soccer!  I think she just wanted to do the drills without adding the extra step of kicking the ball...haha.  Gotta love a girl who knows what she wants!

Blake had no problems jumping right into the action.  He was super excited to be out there running and kicking the ball.  We had two tired soccer players at the end of it all.  A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!  Looking forward to many more fun weekends watching these two!
