A few highlights from our Halloween and fall festivities. I can't believe it is November!
We went out to Circle S Farm the week before Halloween to pick pumpkins, play in the hay maze, eat donuts, and go on a hayride (hayride not so enjoyable being super pregnant!).
The kids loved picking pumpkins right out of the patch!
Once we had our pumpkins we got back on the hayride to head back to the farm.
On Thursday the 30th we celebrated Halloween! They call it beggars night here and we think they moved it to Thursday because this is a football town and nothing can get in the way of football night. I am also thinking they didn't want the kids out on a Friday night with all the crazy OSU college kids. Anyway, Thursday was better weather so I'm glad it happened then. I was a volunteer in Blake's Kindergarten Class and we had a Halloween Party. I signed up to organize the craft. We made masks of witches, vampires, mummies, and frankenstein. I was up late the night before cutting out all the pieces! I don't know how teachers survive day after day. I was burned out after just one morning! It probably doesn't help when you are almost 37 weeks pregnant and crouching down over kid size tables trying to help glue and cut and pass out supplies to kids! I"m glad I got to help though, that will be the end of my volunteering for a while since baby will be here soon!
Blake's class took a group pic at the end. They were all so cute dressed up!
After school we picked up Aunt Carolyn from the airport! We didn't waste much time once we were home, it was time to carve the pumpkins! It was great having her here to help so big mama didn't have to get down on the floor!
We quickly discovered the Claire loved getting out the pumpkin seeds...and Otis wanted to eat them! He actually had a few and was keeping close watch for anything that dropped on the floor.
Blake was more into the designing than the scraping part.
The finished product!
Soon it was time to get in costume so they were ready to go when daddy got home from work! I decided to stay home and pass out candy this year. I made a costume with some left over construction paper. I wore this to Blake's school for the party and while answering the door for trick or treating.
After I took this pic I thought...man...I should have been the kool-aid guy!
The kids liked it and Blake was telling his friends at school that he is having a brother.
Both of the kids are pretty sure they are right, Blake still thinks boy and Claire thinks girl.
More costume pics before they headed out.
Blake was Donatello from Ninja Turtles and Claire was Cat Woman.
She just picked the outfit because it was a cat and she liked the mask.
She called herself "the black cat" when people asked what she was.
I have a feeling she just wanted to have a mask like her brother so it worked out well!
They both got a ton of candy! They made it about an hour and a half I think. Big thanks to Aunt Carolyn for all her help! Not sure what we would have done without you!
Hope you all had a fun Halloween!
Now it is back to baby watch 2014...+/-18 days to go!
