Today was a big day at our house. Blake went to his first day of preschool! He was really excited and not scared at all which made it easier for me in a way. When we arrived his teacher met him at the door, held out her hand, and he walked right in. He didn't even hesitate or really say bye to Claire and I. I was a little sad that he didn't want one last hug but proud at the same time that he wasn't the scared kid crying in the hallway clinging to mommy. He has become such a little man and is so eager to learn. He told me all about his "work" that he did at school today in the whole hour he was there. They have a phasing in process so he doesn't go for the full three hours until next week. He told me he was disappointed that he didn't get to go on the playground today because it was a short day but that tomorrow is a really long day so he will get to do that. Hopefully he won't be mad when I pick him up after an hour again tomorrow!
Little C thought she was going to school also today so she jumped in the picture!
I told Blake that he didn't have to wear a fancy shirt tomorrow and he said "why?".
I guess he likes to dress like daddy?
Today was fun, looking forward to this year watching Blake get to do new and exciting things at school and having one on one time with Claire.
Don't tell Blake that Claire and I had a girls morning at Starbucks while he was doing his "work" and then went to the park for some fun!
Boy, if anybody enjoys being the "first" one to do things, it's Blake. Glad for him and for you too.
