Yesterday we celebrated Blake's 4th birthday!
His birthday isn't until July but he wanted to have his party at the carousel by our house and he wanted to celebrate with his Rhode Island friends before we move so we decided to celebrate early. He picked a theme of "The Lorax" this year, based on the movie and Dr. Suess book. I wasn't really sure how we were going to make that work but I think it turned out pretty well in the end. This was our first attempt at a party with actual guests besides our family, we only had 10 kids but that was crazy enough for me!
I made cupcakes this year instead of cake, mini Lorax for everyone!
Blake was a little overwhelmed when everyone started singing Happy Birthday, it was too cute!
I couldn't get many smiles from the birthday boy, maybe mom was embarrassing him with the camera? It was kinda hot and the kids were jumping in the bounce house between the carousel rides so they were all pretty low key which was a good thing!
Unlimited carousel rides for all the kids and adults, we went around and around and around!
So excited!
So excited!
We all waited together for the choo choo train.
Our party took up the entire train because we had a lot of little ones who needed an adult to ride with. The kids loved the train, I think it was a highlight of the party. It plays some really cool music as it chugs around the park, a catchy tune that is now stuck in my head.
The birthday boy rode up front with Grandma Murray and a bunch of his friends!
Claire and Mommy rode in another car with Claire's friend Imogen!
We had a craft table for the kids when they needed a break.
They made Lorax planting pots with Truffula Trees that they could take home with them.
We brought a few home, they are now our decorations since a lot of our stuff is packed up!
We had so much fun celebrating with our almost 4 year old!
I asked Blake what his favorite part was and he said Everything! Can't get much better than that!
I think we may have to make more cupcakes on July 14th in Columbus!

What a great party! Blake is a lucky guy!

What a fun party! We did The Lorax for Bennett too, but I have to say that yours was a lot more thought out (but I'll give myself working mom credits:) I LOVE his shirt...where did you get it? Blake is too cute! I can't believe he is 4!!! -Jackie
ReplyDeleteI bought the shirt at Old Navy I think and then bought some yellow felt at the craft store that had sticker stuff on the back. Got a mustache template online and cut it out. Blake took the shirt out of the drawer to wear it the other day and asked where the mustache was...he was sad that it was just temporary. This kid loves a good mustache!
