Baby Claire is One!

Yesterday Baby Claire turned one year old and I think she will keep the name "Baby Claire" long past her baby years.  We have started to realize we hardly call her just Claire, it has to be Baby Claire.  

She had her one year doctor visit today and put up some impressive stats.  

She is now 26 lbs. 4 oz. (98 percentile) and 30 - 1/4" tall (86 percentile).

She has made peace with the doll finally.  She even points to it so we retrieve it for her and then gives it a hug.  Hugging is another thing she is into recently, or as Ben calls it, "baby taps".  She puts her arms around you and then taps your back a few times with one hand.

First Steps!

She is very close to walking and last night she took about 6 or 7 steps before plopping on her rear.  

If she is anything like Blake she might have this walking thing figured out in a week or so.  

Blake thinks it is pretty funny when she attempts to walk, I don't think he realizes that she will soon be chasing after him!

For now she is happy creeping along any surface she can find.  She is getting a lot of practice walking around the play house.  She loves to open and close doors and drawers of any kind.

Even the ones she isn't suppose to be in.  Otis just stands by and lets it happen!  She is definitely what we call "Baby Copperfield".  She tries really hard to figure out the baby proof things.  She pulls the velcro strap off her cup (that is supposed to prevent the cup from hitting the floor) with her teeth so she can throw her cup on the floor.
