I think Blake may have invented a new game...hide and sleep? He is supposed to be taking a nap and usually he sings or "reads" or plays in his room a little before falling asleep. I am downstairs taking care of Claire and once it is quiet I go back upstairs to close his door a little and check on him. A few times when I glanced into his room he wasn't in his bed and I thought he must be hiding from me. I am not sure why he does this but it seems that he "hides" somewhere and then falls asleep? This doesn't happen that often but when it does I have a hard time not laughing out loud when I find him. I have found him...
Under his bed!
I really thought he was awake when I found him here but I actually pulled him out and put him in his bed without him waking up.
At the top of the stairs?
Why he chose to sleep here I'm not sure?
I have found him other places but these are the only pictures I have. What a silly boy!
When he is not sleeping he is constantly asking about Christmas related things...Santa, snow, presents, etc. We had a dusting of snow the other day and he insisted on getting all his gear on to go play in it. He even made me put on my boots. I kind of hope we get a little snow because it would really make his day. Too bad he can't remember the crazy amount of snow we had last year.
I guess it is hard to understand the concept of days and weeks and time in general when you are two. Here are some recent funny conversations we had, Since this blog is a kind of baby book for the kids I wanted to write this down so I can look back in the future and laugh at my funny boy!
Blake: How many days until Chistmas?
Mom: A lot...over 300.
Blake: No...only two weeks...yeah!
Blake: Where Santa go?
Mom: The North Pole.
Blake: Let's go get him!
Blake: What's these? (pointing to my belt)
Mom: That's my belt
Blake: Oh yeah...like Santa!
Mom: You need to wear a hat...it's cold outside!
Blake: Blake not wear hat...Blake wear hair!
Blake: Where bampa(grandpa) go?
Mom: He had to go back home.
Blake: Oh...yeah
Mom: He will come back and visit again.
Blake: Blake has to wait...bampa be back in a few days.
One thing is for sure. This boy loves all things Christmas and can't wait for it to come back!
I think it is going to be a long 11 months over here!
Sleeping in places "not the bed" reminds me of his Aunt Carolyn. She was not a bed sleeper for some time. Usually, she just liked floors and stairs, not under the bed.
