So yes, we have a 7 year old! Trying to catch up on the blog as usual these days!
Blake's theme this year was Cubs which is not surprising since he is a little obsessed! I guess we have done a good job pushing the Chicago sports even though our kids have never lived in Illinois. I made him a Cubs cake which doesn't go as far as you think when you are feeding a bunch of hungry 7 year old boys! I might need to make 2 cakes next year!
We celebrated a few times since Ben also has a July birthday!

This summer we did a lot of swimming. Blake made huge strides and can swim on his own now! This is huge for both him and me because now at least I have one swimmer when we go to the pool. It was hard last summer when I had 3 kids who couldn't swim and just 1 me. On the last day of swimming lessons he jumped off the diving board. He is getting braver every day. Next summer he will be tall enough for the slides at the pool. He is super excited. He asked me a few times a week this summer to measure him again to see if he had grown...haha.
He grew out of his old scooter so we got him a new one for his birthday.
Madeline of course took off on it right away!
Blake is still into karate and is moving up on his belts. In a few weeks he will test for his first black belt! After that the colors start over again with solid color on the outside and white in the middle I think? This is him and his instructor after his last belt test.
