Madeline is 1!

Can you believe our baby is 1?  She is such a happy baby and full of energy!  From the moment she wakes up she is non stop walking and moving around.  She loves baby dolls, her brutus doll, shoes, and anything with a glowing screen!  She has 10 teeth, two which are big molars.  We don't have her weight yet because her 1 year check up is Monday.  The doctor suggested waiting till after Thanksgiving  for the 1 year shots...not looking forward to that!

Now that she can wear "big kid" shoes she loves to march around the house and make noise by stomping her feet.  She even marches quickly which turns into a happy dance at which she squeals and laughs at herself.  She watches her big bro and sis very carefully and tries to mimic what they do.  She really wants to put her shoes and socks on by herself.

We took her to the park for a bit on her birthday because the weather was really nice and she loves to swing!  A fun birthday with brother and sister pushing her and making her laugh!

We celebrated on the 25th, the day after her birthday with a Brutus cake.  Since she was born at Ohio State University Hospital we thought it was fitting.  Especially since the hospital gave her a special Brutus doll when she was born and she loves him like a baby.  She recognized his face right away on the cake.  

Like most 1 year olds she was a little confused by the Happy Birthday singing...haha

She had to examine this strange thing we put in front of her...a mini brutus smash cake!

I really thought she would want to eat it since she eats pretty much anything but that was not the case.  I think the frosting texture was a little too weird for her.  

She quickly decided she needed to get rid of this thing and attempted to throw it off the tray and onto the floor!  What are you trying to feed me?  She usually tries to put the bowl or empty plate on her head after a meal so I was ok with it heading for the floor instead.

She loves to play a few notes on the piano so we decided to get her a mini piano for her birthday.

She loves it!

She also loves her new backpack from Aunt Tia, Uncle Matt, and Cousin Nora!

She is too cool for school.

She recently discovered the joy of a roll of toilet paper.  We are in trouble now!

She loves to pretend to read in her crib or around the house.  Her favorite word at the moment is Bop.  We don't know if it really means anything, I think it is used for multiple things.

Having fun in the basement with the big kids.  The little house that Claire got when she turned one is a big hit with Madeline.  Now all the kids can play in it together.

Loves to look outside and see all those birds and squirrels.

Happy Birthday Madeline!  What a year it has been!
