Otis is back home after his knee surgery. He did very well and is happy to be home. He is a little mad that he has to wear a lamp shade and a little embarrassed that they shaved his leg, but besides that he seems his normal self. As soon as we got home he inhaled his dinner, he was on a hunger strike while at the vet. I guess he didn't care for the food they gave him which is surprising because as you know, Otis will eat almost anything! He will be taking it easy for a little while but should be better than ever once he is all healed up. Blake tried to play with his lamp shade on the way home so I think the two of them will be separated for a while.
Oh, sweet little pooch. I hope he heals up real fast so he and Blake can play together again.

Poor Otis! How did he hurt his knee? His leg looks very odd/funny shaved by the way. ;-) Bean and Buddy say Hi!
ReplyDeleteOtis had a luxating patella (his knee would sometimes pop out of the socket), we noticed it about a year ago and they said he might be able to live with it but recently it got worse so we decided to have the surgery done so that it didn't get any worse. It is very common in small dogs. We think he injured it at the park while running one day.
